To raise funds, the committee is selling stones from the foundation that supported the building for 200 years.

Contractors from Wolfe House and Building Movers, Bernville, Berks County , are replacing the foundation. The rocks that supported the building will be replaced with concrete.

The stones cost $25 each and are available at the Forty Fort Cemetery Office at Wyoming Avenue and River Street , committee member Lillian Smith said.

Cemetery staff said the stones weigh between 1 pound and 10 pounds. They are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone interested in purchasing one can stop by the cemetery office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. , or call 287-5214 .

Smith said only a limited number of stones are available. Some cannot be salvaged and others are too large to sell.

While the building is under construction, the preservation committee has Meeting House items on display at Citizens Bank, Wyoming Avenue and Welles Street . Items, some of which came from the Luzerne County Historical Society, can be viewed during business hours, committee member Nancy Lychos said.
