In attendance: Tony Brooks, Chair, Frank Conyngham, Jesse Teitelbaum, Chuck Allabaugh, Charie Aponick, Janet Flack, Amanda Fontenova, Lydia Hirner, Sandra Panzitta, Joel Zitofsky. After introductions of those present, Tony reviewed the goals of the Committee.
So far 80 members out of 150 goal Members guaranteed 2 tickets until June 6th; if payment is not received at that point the tickets will be released
Photos from the Annual Meeting are on the SesquiCentennial website
About 125 people attended Out of 10 “Oldest Residents” who RSVPed, 6 were able to attend that night; certificates have been mailed to all those who couldn’t attend Thank-you notes have gone out to all those who sponsored the “Oldest Residents” Proclamations were read honoring the “Oldest Residents” and a slideshow was presented by Jesse Teitelbaum on the History of the Historical Society
Received payment for 77 people so far, including Committee members (214 “reserved” tickets) It is an open bar for the night, but only wine, soda, and beer—no hard liquor allowed on Court House grounds It was suggested that the Historical Society logo lapel pins might make a nice dinner gift: good quality and inexpensive It was suggested that a volunteer or two could sell a nice commemorative gift at the Gala, along with accepting pre-payments for the commemorative book So far there are 9 corporate sponsors, so we are up to $25,975
September 27-28, 2008 All Societies, crafters, etc. who are participating are encouraged to bring their own tent along with their table/booth
An idea was brought up of doing up laminated placemats containing a map of a children’s “treasure hunt” that could be focused on historical landmarks. These would be distributed to local restaurants to increase knowledge of our SesquiCenntenial and local history. Anyone who would like to be involved with this idea should contact Charie Aponick.
Please report any errors, emissions, embellishments and misspellings to Tony Brooks. |
